HCC Swim - Time Trial Info for 6/7/25
June 5th
Good Afternoon,
As previously mentioned, our time trial is scheduled for Saturday, June 7th. This email is ONLY being sent to those who have declared for the meet. A few important details for all of you are listed below.
**I am looking for National Anthem singers for our home meets. If your child is interested, please reply to this email.
- VOLUNTEERS: We do not have enough parents helping us on Saturday! Currently, these are the vacancies:
- No one has signed up to help sell 50/50 raffle tickets. Without anyone to sell, the team also doesn't make any money. Find a partner and do it with someone else. Makes it go by quicker.
- I need parking helpers. You are there to assist with helping to tell us all where to park. Show up at 7:00 a.m. and your job is over by 8:30 a.m.
- We have found a DJ team, but are looking for one more person to help share the work. If you want to be part of the DJ Dads, let me know.
- Runner - this is the person who picks up the sheets after each event from the timers and gives them to the volunteers in the gazebo. It's easy and you get your steps in!
- Timers - we only have 5 timers signed up. At a minimum we need 6, but would be great to have 12 (2 per lane). No skill required except that you're able to see the swimmer in your lane touch the wall and you can push a button down. You also may need to write the time on a piece of paper. I promise, it's easy and most timers love it! You can see your swimmers up close and you stay busy.
- Head Timer - this is someone who can run two watches and watch the other timers to make sure they don't need help.
- Snack bar - we only have 3 helpers and that's not enough. - We promise - you will NOT miss your child swim.
- The time trial will start at 8:30 a.m. and the warm ups will begin at 7:50 a.m. Warm up times are as follows:
7:55 a.m. – 8:10 a.m. – 13 and Older
8:10 a.m. – 8:25 a.m. – 12 and Under
- Please make sure your child is on time for their warm ups. They cannot swim with another age group. Being ready means they have their cap and goggles on ready to enter the pool when the coach gives them the ok.
- The pool will not open to the team until 7:15 a.m. There are parents there early who are setting up and trying to get ready. Please be respectful.
- If you signed up to be an official, your meeting is at 8:00 a.m. and if you signed up to be a timer, your meeting will be at 8:10 a.m.
- Our pool setup for time trials will be that all families can sit anywhere. If it's a regular meet, HCC only sits on the side by the baby pool/diving board. The grassy area by the gazebo is reserved for the visiting team.
- Don't forget your tents and chairs. And share your tent space with others. We’re one team and we need to accommodate everyone. It won't be a big deal this Saturday, but at a regular meet it's very crowded.
- Please remind your swimmers that they should not be using the pool to clean their feet, shoes or anything else. The pool should only be used to swim in. Swimmers should only put their body in when they’re swimming. No splashing while waiting their turn to swim.
- Out of respect for all swimmers, we do not allow drums or other noise makers after the meet starts.
- The playground and baby pool are CLOSED for use during the meet. This is for the safety of all children, including those children not swimming.
- If your child has any type of injury that requires them to use tape or has a cast (and plans to swim), please let us know now by replying to this email. This is VERY important when it comes to the regular season.
- When you arrive to the pool on Saturday morning, we will have some awesome parking assistants to assist you. Please follow their directions so you can be safely parked. Drive SLOWLY - there will be many people walking towards the pool.
- Wear your team suit if you have it, if not please wear a practice suit. Swim cap is required too.
- Not sure how to volunteer, reply to this email. I can sign you up.
