Good Morning, 

Our first practice is fast approaching and our time trial meet is less than a month away.  In order for us to have a home meet, we need to have certified officials.  We are looking for parents who would like to become stroke and turn officials.  These are the volunteers at the meets who wear blue shorts and white shirts, carry a clip board and are at the end of the pool carefully watching the swimmers.  

We are so thankful for all of those who volunteer in some capacity at our meets - unfortunately we are at a critical point that without certified officials we may not host a meet.  So, if you have thought about volunteering in a different capacity, now is your opportunity!  Or maybe you haven't taken the plunge yet to volunteer at a meet - NOW is your opportunity!  We're a team with over 100 swimmers and we currently have 3 certified working officials.  Unlike other sports, swim parents must be actively involved in order to just have a season.

Please NOTE: If you already have a login due to an athlete competing on a USA-S team, you will use your existing login

If you don’t have a USA Swimming account, you must CREATE A LOGIN.

• Go to www.usaswimming.org
• Click LOGIN/Register in the Top right-hand side
• Click on EDUCATION (Top right-hand side)
• Choose Course Catalog
• Choose Officials
• Locate Foundations of Officiating Course
• Click View Info
• Choose Start
• Click Login
• Create a Login or use your existing login if you already have one
• Contact me if you are having any issues creating a login (You just create a login – no membership is required – it is FREE)
• Once your login is created, complete the Foundations of Officiating Course. Be sure to complete the test at the end
• Then complete the second required course, Stroke & Turn Certification Course
• Once both courses are completed, go to the opening page of the USA Swimming University
• Click view transcript
• Download both certificates
• Complete PMSL Officials Form and upload certificates using this link: https://forms.gle/Tipknhbcz5nRoHnK9

PLEASE reply to this email if you plan to take the courses and become a certified S&T so that we can track who's assisting.  

Becoming certified does not mean you have to work every meet or any meet.  Your first year you can potentially be an apprentice if you want the extra help.  We need to build up our "bench" so that we are not at such a critical point in the years to come.
