HCC v. Greenview Meet Details
All-
We have our 2nd dual meet of the season at home on Saturday against Geenview (GV). The meet will start at 8:30 a.m.
I have attached the meet entries.
As a reminder, not every swimmer can swim in the meet because the league has limitations. If you child is swimming, please make every effort to attend. We can’t “replace” the spot with another swimmer and it may take away from someone else who wanted to swim.
We are still looking for volunteers! We have over 120 swimmers entered into the meet and 26 open volunteer spots still open. Unfortunately, swim meets cannot happen without parent volunteers. This isn't a soccer or lacrosse game where you can just go and watch your child. Many, many parents have to work together to host a successful meet. We could use all the extra hands. A special thanks to those families who volunteer each and every week.
The pool will open at 7:15 a.m. for those who want to be there early! Please do not arrive to the pool or parking lot until 7:15 a.m. There is a lot of work to be done in the morning for those of us setting up the pool.
I am looking for a National Anthem singer for Saturday. Please reach out if interested.
If you signed up to donate food to the Gator Bar, please start bringing those donations to the pool today and tomorrow.
HCC warm ups begin at 7:40 a.m. Ages groups 13/14 and 15-18 will begin at 7:40 a.m. Age groups 8 and under, 9/10 and 11/12 are at 7:50 a.m. Your swimmers should be ready to enter the water at the start of their warm up time. That means their cap and goggles should be on and they are waiting at the pool deck for the coach to have them enter the water. The coaches have asked that I remind you that swimmers need to be on time with caps and goggles on!
Don't forget your tents and chairs.
TEAM LOCATION: HCC’s team location is over by the baby pool and deep end. We encourage swimmers and families to set up in this area. Bring your tents and share spaces with all families as much as you can. The baby pool area can fit a lot of tents! We will also utilize one ½ of the tennis courts for those families who want a little extra space. For HCC, our ½ of the tennis courts will be closest to the parking lots (the first court closest to the parking lot). The other ½ (the second court) will be utilized by GV. I know we have had families on both sides for the last year+, but with another team we need to make room. As in prior meets, we are not utilizing the lower court area.
Guppy Swimmers: Those swimmers who receive assistant from other swimmers do not need to attend the warm ups. We will have the guppies swim during the break (between IM's and Relays after event 46). While I cannot give you an exact time, if you arrive at 10:30 a.m. you should be fine. Your guppies will still have assistance during their race, if needed.
As a reminder, the playground and baby pool are not to be used during the meet. This is for the safety of all children, including those children not swimming.
If your child has any type of injury that requires them to use tape or has a cast (and plans to swim), please let us know now by replying to this email. We must alert GV of any injuries on our team that could potentially "assist" them in swimming faster.
Our 50/50 raffle, and the Gator Bar will be open for business on Saturday! Please support our team!
REMINDER about trash - yesterday evening, one of our awesome families picked up 17 pieces of trash left on the tennis courts at the conclusion of practices. PLEASE remind your child that they need to pick up their trash, sodas, candy wrappers, napkins, chip bags and anything else they carry out there. Please be responsible for your own trash.
See you on the deck,
Megan D
